  • whatshotResearch Description

I received a PhD in Clinical Psychology from the University of California, Los Angeles, and completed my clinical internship at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine/Montefiore Medical Center. Before joining the faculty at Berkeley, I was a postdoctoral fellow at the University of California, Irvine.

My research program aims to advance mental health equity among racially and ethnically minoritized populations, with an emphasis on Latinx groups. To achieve this goal, I concentrate on three interconnected research areas: 1) identifying risk (e.g., discrimination) and resilience (e.g., familismo) factors that affect the mental health outcomes of marginalized groups, 2) enhancing the cultural and contextual fit of evidence-based treatments through data-driven approaches, and 3) using digital tools to increase the accessibility of mental health services in disenfranchised communities.
