Focusing on how leadership, policy advocacy, and social work can drive more equitable practices across early childhood systems. This session will highlight how to advance and implement equitable practices and systems change through leadership development, district-level policy implementation, and state-level advocacy. Rebecca Cheung will draw on her expertise in preparing equity-centered education leaders; Ted Lempert will discuss advocacy strategies to advance child well-being through state policy; and Susan Stone will share insights from her social work research, reflecting on systems change, partnerships, and workforce through the lens of social welfare and well-being. Together, the panel will explore opportunities and challenges in aligning policy and practice to create more equitable systems for children, families, and the professionals who serve them.
