War Epiphanies

This talk draws on life histories of U.S. veterans of the Iraq war who broke with the military, openly criticized the purpose and methods of the war in Iraq, and left the military. It will address the presumed links between nature, violence, and masculinity; the diversity of military masculinities; and the ideology and practice of voluntarism in the U.S. military.
