Joyce Dorado | Creating Safe, Supportive, and Socially Just Schools: Healthy Environments and Response to Trauma in Schools (HEARTS)

Institute of Human Development Special Talk
HEARTS is a program that partners with schools and school districts to create more trauma-informed, safe, supportive, and equitable learning and teaching environments. We offer research-grounded professional development training and consultation around trauma's effects as well as what anyone can do (regardless of their role in a school) to create a safe and supportive school environment that promotes healing and resilience as opposed to inadvertently causing harm.
In this talk, I will provide a brief overview of the HEARTS program, focusing on the HEARTS framework and principles that can promote resilience and healing for all members of a school community, students and adults alike.
