Advising by Appointment

Appointment Booking Policy

You can schedule an appointment up to 7 days in advance and with at least 1 day's notice.

If you don't see any available appointment within the next 7 days, that means all of the available appointments have been taken. Check back frequently as new appointments open up by the hour.

If you would like to speak with an advisor within the same day, consider visiting us during drop-in advising (typically hosted by a peer advisor) or emailing us at psychsso@berkeley.edu

If you schedule a 15-minute appointment and our discussion takes longer, we will try our best to accommodate but may ask you to schedule another appointment. Please choose a 25-minute appointment if you anticipate needing more time.

Business hours are 9AM - 4PM PST/ PDT from Monday through Friday. If you are in another time zone and would like to meet outside the hours currently available, please contact us at psychsso@berkeley.edu and we will do our best to accommodate your schedule request.

During the first two weeks of instruction, there are no advising appointments as major advisors are shadowing peer advisors and hosting drop-in advising. Please visit us during drop-in advising if you have a time-sensitive question pertaining to enrollment or graduation requirement. If you have general questions about program planning or career/ grad school exploration, we ask that you consider waiting to schedule an appointment.

Need a Signature

We can review and sign the following forms via email without an appointment, if you don't have any questions you wish to discuss. You will need to accurately complete your portion(s) of the form. Incomplete forms or forms with substantive errors will be returned for correction.

- Double Major Application
- Simultaneous Degree Petition
- Program Plan Worksheet for L&S Advising (e.g. changing EGT, etc.) - low complexity
- Academic Planning Form for study abroad
- Forms for ASC advising
- SAP Appeal for financial aid - low complexity
- Minor Completion Form

In complex situations, we may ask that you schedule an appointment (e.g. students seeking readmission).

Appointment Booking System

The Psychology Undergraduate Major Advisors primarily offer remote advising services by appointment via Zoom. To request an in-person appointment, please email the advisor you would like to meet.

To make scheduling an advising appointment easier and more convenient, we are now using Calendly, an online scheduling tool that lets you book a time that works best for you.

We are making this switch to improve user experience on desktop and mobile, appointment notifications, and increase access to appointments for all students. For us, it provides a higher level of customization on the back end, which you can see when making appointments.

Here’s how to schedule your appointment:

Click this link: https://calendly.com/d/cnwk-4hr-g2t

Choose the advisor you’d like to meet with and type of appointment you’d like to schedule (if there are multiple options).

Select a date and time that fits your schedule. Each advisor may have a varying schedule.

Enter your name, UCB email, SID #, and respond to a few questions about why you’d like to meet.

Click "Schedule Event"—you’ll receive a confirmation email with the meeting details. Add the meeting to your calendar!

You will also get a text and/or email reminder before the meeting.

Join the Zoom Room at the time of your appointment! We will ask you to fill out a quick sign-in sheet for our record keeping.

Here is a quick walkthrough with screenshots for your convenience.

New appointments will open 7 days in advance, so do check back as new appointments open up.
