How to Prepare Human Subjects Protocols for Your Research Projects

This workshop is designed for undergraduates who are seeking to do independent research involving human participants. Staff from the the Office for Protection of Human Subjects (OPHS) as well the Office of Undergraduate Research and Scholarships (OURS) will be present to introduce you to the basics of human subjects research - What qualifies as human subjects research? What steps do you need to take to perform independent human subjects research? Which protocols require approval from CPHS, and how do you go about obtaining approval?

This workshop will provide guidance straight from the source. We highly recommend attendance to students applying to independent research fellowships with human subjects, like the Haas Scholars Program, SURF, or who plan on writing a senior thesis. Human subjects research is most often applicable for students doing research in psychology and the social sciences, but it still might be relevant to your project. Join us and learn more! RSVP is not required!
