We are seeking individuals who wish to take part in a study of shared attention, more specifically in how we are attend to a source of speech in an environment that contains a number of speakers. This study constitutes research. Listeners will sit in the middle of this simulated “party” and a
visual display will direct attention to the “primary source.” Using buttons, the subject will answer a string of questions taken from the various speakers. There will be a small financial reward for each correct answer and
encouragement for attending to the preferred place will be given by presenting the majority of questions from that location. To make it interesting, the direction of attention will be changed during the course of
listening. It is kind of fun.
Please contact Berkeley.EarLab@gmail.com if you wish to participate in this study.
