Please note that ALL courses taken for the major (both lower division prerequisites and upper division requirements) must be taken for a letter grade.

Two courses are required.

  • AP Biology with a score of 4 or 5

Social Science

Two courses. Note that the two courses must be from different departments.

  • Anthropology 3 or 3AC
  • Sociology 1, 3, or 3AC
  • Linguistics 5
  • Philosophy 3, 4, 5, 12A, or 25B
  • Political Science 1,2, or 4
Quantitative

A total of 3 courses is required. Students must take Psych 101 and two additional quantitative courses.

  • Psych 101

  • Two courses from the list:

    • Math 10A &/or 10B 
    • Math 1A &/or 1B
    • Math 54
    • Math 55
    • Stats 2, 20, or 21 
    • Stats C8

**NOTE: In addition to Psych 101, the following combinations are recommended: Math 10A-B (highly recommended), or Math 1A with Stats C8.

Please note that AP exams and IB standard exams do not satisfy the quantitative course requirement. IB HL and A-Level exams may be accepted on a case by case basis.
