Interests: Impact of sleep on human brain function, especially the role of sleep in: learning and memory; brain plasticity; emotional regulation; affective & clinical mood disorders and aging. These topics are addressed using combined cognitive and multimodal neuroimaging techniques.


Prof. Walker is a senior author of a study  published recently in Current Biology. The study's findings lay the groundwork for further investigation into the relationship between sleep and psychiatric illnesses.
